Hedreg Groups Ltd and its affiliates ("BuyEnergy", "we", "us", "the Company") operate the www.buyenergyunits.com platform (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you use the Platform. We do not share your information with anyone except as set out here.
We use your personal information to deliver and improve our services. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. Terms not defined here carry the meaning given to them in our Terms of Use. This policy applies across all of our services.
By accessing our services, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy and agree to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described. If you are acting for a company, you confirm you are an authorised representative with power to bind that company ("Administrator") and that you accept this policy on its behalf.
While you use the Platform, we may ask for information that can identify or be used to contact you. This may include your name, email address, phone number, and postal address ("Personal Information").
When you reach the Platform from a mobile device, certain information is gathered automatically. This can include your device type, unique device identifier, IP address, mobile operating system, browser type, and related usage statistics ("Log Data"). We may also rely on third-party analytics tools — Google Analytics among them — to collect and analyse this category of information so we can improve how the Platform functions.
Where you grant permission, we may use and store information about your location to deliver and personalise Platform features. You can turn location access on or off at any time through your device settings.
Business and financial information. Opening an account requires business and financial details, which may include your business name, tax identification number, business address and telephone number, business bank account details, supporting documentation, and email address. Beneficial owners of the business will also need to supply personal details including name, address, date of birth, National Identification Number (NIN), telephone number, and a photograph of a passport or driver's licence.
Data generated through your use of the Platform. We collect information about how you use the Platform, the actions you take on it, and your communications with us through it.
Regulatory identity verification. The Central Bank of Nigeria's Anti-Money Laundering, Combating the Financing of Terrorism, and Countering Proliferation Financing of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Financial Institutions Regulations, 2022 require financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information identifying each business that opens an account, along with details of its owners and representatives. On behalf of our partner financial institutions, we will therefore request identifying details for business owners, administrators, and authorised users, and, where applicable, driver's licence numbers, international passport details, or comparable identification.
Uploaded content. Photographs, text, video, and any other material you upload or transmit through the Platform.
Device information. Unique device identifier, model, operating system and version, browser type and version, installed add-ons, access times, access locations, and stored contacts where permission has been granted.
We may use the information we hold about you to fulfil our contractual obligations and provide the services you request; tell you about products and services similar to ones you've already bought or asked about; present our content in the most effective format for you; administer the Platform internally (troubleshooting, testing, research, statistics); measure advertising effectiveness; and personalise your experience. If you would rather we did not use your data for marketing, or pass your details to third parties for that purpose, indicate this on the relevant form at the point of collection.
Information we receive from other sources is combined with what you give us and what we collect about you, and used for the purposes above according to its type. We may also send you service-related emails and messages — account verification, feature changes, technical and security notices.
Cookies are small data files that a site stores on your computer or mobile device so your browser can remember information about your use. We use cookies to improve your experience, recognise returning customers, monitor and improve Platform performance, deliver interest-based advertising, and diagnose technical faults. Most browsers let you delete or block cookies, though doing so may degrade parts of the Platform. Deleting cookies does not remove Local Storage Objects such as HTML5 storage.
You agree that we may share your personal information with our affiliated companies and service providers; with financial service providers, including institutions named in your cardholder bank agreement; with non-financial companies handling marketing or fraud prevention on our behalf; with a non-affiliated third party engaged to access and transmit your information from a relevant financial institution; with business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors for the performance of a contract; in connection with the sale, transfer, or merger of parts of our business; where legally required or in response to lawful requests; with law enforcement or auditors investigating fraud; and in aggregated or anonymised form that does not identify you.
You can update profile details and adjust some data sharing preferences on your Settings page. Device permissions (contacts, location, photos, camera) can be withdrawn through your device's Settings. Promotional emails can be stopped using the unsubscribe link; service-related messages (account verification, transaction notices, security alerts) cannot be opted out of. As part of understanding our users and the Platform, we analyse site data in order to operate, maintain, manage, and improve the service. This data does not identify you personally. We may share it with affiliates, agents, and business partners, and disclose aggregate user statistics to current and prospective partners for lawful purposes.
We may permit advertising networks, social media companies, and other third-party services to collect information about how you use our site over time, so they can display advertising relevant to your interests. This includes targeted advertising on platforms such as Facebook, using a hashed email address or phone number rather than raw personal information. Information collected through our services may be stored and processed in Nigeria or in any other country where we, our affiliates, or our service providers maintain facilities. We apply commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect your information, but no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep your data for as long as the purpose of processing requires, and afterwards for as long as the law obliges us to.
We may use your personal information to send you newsletters, marketing material, and other information that may interest you. You can opt out of any or all of these using the unsubscribe link or the instructions in any email we send.
We will disclose personal information where required by law or subpoena, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, to respond to reasonable requests from law enforcement, or to protect the security and integrity of the Platform.
If Hedreg Groups Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred. We will give notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your information may be transferred to and held on computers outside your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. If you are outside Nigeria and choose to give us information, we transfer it to Nigeria and process it there.
The Platform may link to sites we do not operate. We strongly recommend reviewing the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites.
The Platform is not directed at anyone under 18 ("Children"), and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, please contact support@buyenergyunits.com.
You have the right to request access to your personal data; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data; request erasure where there is no good reason for us to keep processing it; object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing; request restriction of processing; request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format; and withdraw consent at any time where consent is our basis for processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page and take effect once posted. Please review the policy periodically.
